A great deal of indignation has been caused among the Jewish population of Tunis, which is a French dependency, by the refusal of the authorities to permit M. Nathan Halpern, the representative of the Keren Hayesod, to address meetings in the country on behalf of the Palestine funds.

The authorities contend that they had to take this step to prevent disturbances by the Arab population who have lately been conducting a fierce anti-Zionist campaign in Tunis.

Recently Mr. Jabotinsky was refused a visa to Tunis on account of protests made to the authorities by the Arab representatives.
