The Keren Hayesod, the fund-raising arm of the Jewish Agency, will float a bond issue in July for 10,000,000 pounds, Dr. Giora Josephthal, Jewish Agency treasurer, announced today at a meeting of the Jewish Agency executive. The flotation will be guaranteed jointly by the Agency and the Israel Government.
The Agency executive authorized today the establishment of a Huleh authority, capitalized at 1,000,000 pounds to exploit the 27,000 dunams of land reclaimed from the Huleh marshes by the Jewish National Fund. The authority will consist of representatives of the Agency and the JNF. It will concentrate on raising industrial crops on the reclaimed marshlands.
Finally, the Agency approved a 750,000 pound appropriation for the irrigation and expansion of the Sde Boker area in the Negev to enable settlers to obtain full time employment.
