Jordan will build up its military power to prepare for the liberation of Palestine, King Hussein said today in Amman, capital of Jordan, in a speech from the throne. He announced a program of support for the Palestine Liberation Organization and arming border villages for defense against Israeli attacks or reprisals.
The King said that to achieve the necessary force for the liberation of Palestine, Jordan has accomplished “a great result in record time in increasing her armed forces in numbers, efficiency, and equipment” during the past year. He said the coming months would see still more increases in Jordanian military capacities.
