Residents of the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona went on strike top protest what they called the government’s failure to respond to the needs of the community in the wake of repeated Katyusha rocket attacks.
The rockets have been fired from southern Lebanon by the Islamic fundamentalist Hezbollah.
Kiryat Shmona Mayor Prosper Azran called the strike last week. Schools and businesses were closed during the event.
The latest attack was about 10 days ago, when a Katyusha rocket landed between two apartment buildings, causing property damage and light injuries to four people.
