Nazi-hunter Beate Klarsfeld has again accused the Syrian government of harboring Alois Brunner, one of the most notorious Nazi war criminals still at large, and of ignoring appeals that he be brought to justice.

She told the United Nations Human Rights Commission here that Syrian President Hafez Assad had not responded to appeals about Brunner including a letter written last October by the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
