The Klausenberg Rebbe opened his mass campaign for immediate settling of all of his followers in Israel yesterday with an address to a mass meeting of more than 15,000 persons in B’nai Brak, the Orthodox town near Tel Aviv. A substantial group of the ultra-Orthodox zealots of the Natorei Karta lives in B’nai Brak.
Rabbi Halberstam spoke with enthusiasm about the desire for settlement which he said existed among Orthodox Jews in the United States and unfolded plans for more Orthodox settlements in Israel. He called on Orthodox Jews in the free countries to fulfil the goal of immigration “which they so cherish” and come to Israel to settle. The Klausenberg Rebbe came to Israel several years ago with a group of his followers to settle.
