A demand that the Israel Parliament start an immediate debate on the mounting tension along its borders was voiced here today in Parliament by Menahem Beigin, leader of the Herut Party. Mr. Beigin claimed that about 1, 000 Israelis have been killed by Arab infiltrators since the establishment of the Jewish State.

Mr. Beigin’s demand was voted down by an overwhelming majority after Premier David Ben Gurion told Parliament that deliberations on this subject are now in progress in the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Security Committee. As long as this committee deals with the questions, it should not be intereferred with, the Premier argued.

Meanwhile, an agreement was reached today between Israel and Jordan representatives for renewal of the meetings of local commanders of both countries to confer on all border incidents in an attempt to settle the issues without calling on the Mixed Armistice Commission. Today’s pact is valid for three months.
