The Israel Parliament last night honored the memory of two Iraqi Jewish youths executed in Baghdad yesterday morning following their conviction on charges of terrorism.
The House rose to its feet to hear the announcement by Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett that Shalom Saleh Shalom and Joseph Ibrahim Basri had been hanged, despite the fact that the Israeli Government “tried everything to rescue them.” Mr. Sharett told the deputies that “trustworthy reports in our possession show that they were innocent and fell victims to judicial murder.”
