The Knesset gave the final reading tonight to a bill authorizing the Jerusalem District Court to revalidate the Jerusalem municipal elections which the court had nullified because of irregularities.
Under the ordinance voted tonight, the court can validate 50 ballots not included in the original count and have them included in a recount of the entire vote. The 50 ballots which were invalidated on a technicality in the first count, include sufficient votes to give the General Zionists a seat in the Municipal Council, The party was four votes short of qualification. The 50 disputed ballots included five for that party.
