Dr. Serge Koussevitzky and Leonard Bernstein will conduct the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in most of the concerts of its American tour next year, to be held under the auspices of the American Fund for Israel Institutions, it was revealed here last night. S. Hurok, noted impresario, will manage the tour.
Dr. Koussovitsky, who returned yesterday from a concert tour of Israel and six other countries, expressed high praise for the “quality of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.” He will return to Israel in October.
