Kurdish protesters attempted to storm the Israeli consulates in Berlin and Montreal over the weekend, but were kept back by local police. In Berlin, the demonstrators shouted, “Israeli murderers,” protesting the shooting deaths of three Kurds who broke into the consulate there last week. The protest took place a day after Israeli diplomats met with Kurdish community leaders in an attempt to reduce tensions. In Montreal, a police officer was seriously wounded and 14 people were arrested when demonstrators tried to charge the Israeli Consulate.
