A labor bloc, which will organize workers’ groups and individuals for participation in the American Jewish Congress national democratic elections on April 28, was formed at an all-day conference of representatives of Jewish organizations at Central Plaza Hall, it was announced yesterday.
The session was attended by 506 delegates representing 361 organizations. There was also an audience of 500 persons present.
The conference voted that the labor bloc is to function as a unit in all its activities and that delegates elected to the American Jewish Congress convention will continue to function as a unit in the larger body’s deliberations and will adhere to the platform laid down by the bloc.
