Organized labor has led in fighting the spread in this country of Hitlerism, according to Matthew Woll, of New York, third vice-president of the American Federation of Labor.
The statement was part of a speech as luncheon guest of the Kiwanis Club. Woll is here attending the sessions of the A. F. of L. executive council.
“In Germany we see Hitler with his development of racial and religious antagonisms, now showing here and there in our own nation. No movement I know of has done more to prevent their taking hold in America than has labor—and I am not of the Jewish faith.”
