INTERNATIONAL OBLIGATIONS WILL BE RESPECTED BY RUMANIA IN DRAFTING MEASURES FOR THE “PROTECTION OF NATIONAL LABOR,” IT WAS ASSERTED TODAY BY PREMIER GEORG TATARESCU IN A PROCLAMATION TO THE NATION IN WHICH HE OUTLINED HIS GOVERNMENT’S POLICY ON MINORITIES.
“WE ARE GUIDED BY PRINCIPLES OF CONSTRUCTIVE NATIONALISM,” THE PREMIER STATED, “IN OUR ACTIONS FOR THE PROTECTION OF NATIONAL LABOR, WHICH WILL BE COMPLETED BY MEASURES TAKEN WITH DUE RESPECT TO INTERNATIONAL OBLIGATIONS. THESE MEASURES DO NOT AFFECT THE POSSIBILITIES OF DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL ETHNICAL MINORITIES WHO HAVE ADAPTED THEMSELVES TO LIFE IN THE STATE. RESPECT OF LANGUAGE AND CREED ASSURED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE LAW, WE CALL ON MINORITIES TO COOPERATE FOR THE PROGRESS AND CONSOLIDATION OF THE COUNTRY.”
THE PROCLAMATION CONCLUDED: “THE THOUGHT OF UNITY CONQUERS HATRED IN A SPIRIT OF UNDERSTANDING.”
