Downfall of Hitlerism, freedom for the oppressed Jewish masses and rebirth of the German trade union movement are foreseen in the congratulations sent by the Jewish Labor Committee to the Central Trades and Labor Council of New York in connection with the latter’s resolution to continue its active boycott against Nazi German-made goods.
The council, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, recently decided to continue a vigorous boycott until Germany acknowledges the right of her workers to organize in independent unions. The resolution urged all affiliated organizations to cooperate.
CONDEMN LOANS TO NAZIS
A resolution warning against the moves promoted by German financial interests to obtain loans or credits for Nazi Germany and calling on all labor groups to protest against such aid to Hitlerism was unanimously adopted by the executive board of Dressmakers’ Union, Local 22, I. L. G. W. U., reported to represent 30,000 workers. Such assistance, the resolution declares, would bolster up and perpetuate “the monstrous regime.”
