A resolution appealing to President Truman to “put an end to the intrigues of the State Department, accord do jure recognition to Israel; remove the embargo and immigration restrictions and grant a loan to the new Jewish state” was adopted here last night at the closing session of the two-day conference of the Labor Zionist Committee for Relief and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Nehum Goldmann, chairman of the executive committee of the World Jewish Congress, asserted at the meeting that “if it had not been for the efforts of the Jewish people of Israel, backed by support of Jews all over the world, the resolution of last year’s U.N. Assembly would be a dead letter today.”
