Two electrically-detonated land mines blew up a British military truck tonight, injuring four soldiers, one seriously. The explosion occurred on Remallah Road, on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
Immediately after the blast traffic to and from the four security zones in Jerusalem was halted, and police patrols were sent to the scene of the explosion. They found fragments of glass, indicating that the explosive had been inserted in milk bottles, and several other boxes containing explosives.
Other explosions are reported to have taken place tonight in Haifa, Nablus and an undisclosed locality. This is the first outbreak of violence in about two weeks.
