THE BARRIERS AGAINST IMMIGRATION RAISED BY CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES HAVE AGGRAVATED THE DIFFICULTIES EXPERIENCED BY THE COUNTRIES OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE, GEORGE LANSBURY TOLD NEWSPAPERMEN HERE.

THE MILITANT BRITISH PACIFIST, WHO IS MAKING A ONE-MAN PILGRIMAGE TO THE CHANCELLERIES OF EUROPE IN A CAMPAIGN FOR AN INTERNATIONAL PEACE CONFERENCE, PROPOSED AN UNUSUAL SOLUTION OF THE COLONIAL PROBLEM NOW AGITATING THE CONTINENT’S BEST DIPLOMATIC MINDS.

HE DECLARED HIMSELF OPPOSED TO REPARTITIONING OVERSEAS TERRITORIES. INSTEAD, HE SUGGESTED LUMPING TOGETHER ALL COLONIES UNDER ADMINISTRATION OF AN INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION RESPONSIBLE TO A NEW LEAGUE OF NATIONS. HE MADE IT CLEAR THAT THE INDEPENDENT BRITISH DOMINIONS WOULD OF COURSE NOT BE INCLUDED IN SUCH A TERRITORIAL MERGER.

HIS PROPOSED “WORLD COLONY” ADMINISTRATION WOULD ZEALOUSLY PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF NATIVES, WOULD OVERSEE THE SETTLEMENT OF IMMIGRANTS AND WOULD ORGANIZE TRADE ON A BASIS OF FREEDOM FOR ALL NATIONS.
