Fifteen percent of the soldiers enrolled in the Polish army in Russia, now in the process of formation at Buzuluk which is about 120 miles southeast of Kuibyshev, are Jews despite the fact that Jews comprise only nine percent of the Polish population, according to information given to the JTA correspondent here today by General Anders, commander of the Polish forces in the Soviet Union. There are many Jewish officers, Gen. Anders stated, including one Jewish lieutenant-colonel.
At one period during the formation of this army the Revisionists intended to form a special Jewish unit, it is revealed, but the Polish Zionist and Jewish Socialist groups declared that they preferred to fight in the same units with Poles.
