The body of the Communist leader, Larin, who was one of the chief promoters of the Jewish colonisation movement in the Soviet countries, was cremated to-day, and the ashes were placed this afternoon in the wall of the Kremlin, behind the mausoleum of Lenin.
The road taken by the funeral procession to the Red Square was lined by militia, and was headed by a military detachment, and several military bands. Members of the Soviet Government, and delegations from many organisations, institutions and factories followed in the procession. Huge crowds lined the route.
Memorial speeches were delivered from the Lenin mausoleum by M. Lunarcharsky, President of the Communist Academy and former Minister of Education and Fine Arts, and by the Jewish Communist leaders, M. Mereszin and M. #imanstein.
