The last 400 Jews permitted to remain in the German city of Hamburg were deported shortly before the huge Allied air raids on the city, it was reported here today from Switzerland. Previously, the Jews in Hamburg had not been allowed to use any air raid shelters.
Polish official circles here today received a report from Stockholm stating that two French war prisoners who succeeded in escaping from Germany to Sweden revealed that Jewish girls from Poland are being used by the Nazis for demolition work, under the threats of bayonets. The two said that they witnessed a scene when Jewish mothers were killed on the spot for protesting against taking away their children for heavy physical forced labor on demolishing buildings bombed by the British air force.
