Prefects of several French cities have been ousted on charges of assisting Jews, it is disclosed in the Anti-Semitic newspaper Au Pilori, published in Paris. The paper reports that the prefects of Lyon, Annecy and Toulouse have been dismissed. It asserts that M.Dorliac, who was perfect of Annecy, furnished fuel for the automobile of a local rabbi to enable him to carry several Jews across the border into Switzerland.

The German press in France reports that the French Riviera has been cleared of Jews. Thousands of French Jews sought refuge in the Riviera – which was held by the Italians – after the fall of France. They were not molested until the Germans took over control of the area following Italy’s surrender last September.
