Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Dr. Samuel Schneider, 61, a lifelong resident of New York City, at the Park West Memorial Chapel. Rabbi Greenfield officiated.
Dr. Schneider was a director of the Hebrew Technical Society and a member of the Samuel Tichner Society, and Grand Street Boys Association and the New York County and Yorkville Medical Societies.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Clara K. Taylor, and two sons.
Thirty leaders of Reform Jewish religious congregations of Greater New York attended a luncheon tendered them by Roger W. Straus Saturday at the Harmonie Club.
Mr. Straus, recently appointed chairman of the Metropolitan Finance Board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations to succeed the late Henry M. Toch, told the diners of the financial needs of the union and of his plans for meeting them. Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson of Temple Emanu-El spoke of the importance of the work of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
