The Arab Supreme Committee, which held an urgent meeting to consider abandonment of the eleven-week-old general strike, was tonight keeping its decisions a closely-guarded secret.

It is understood that the Grand Mufti, Haj Amin el Husseini, favored peace while adherents of Ragheb Bey Nashashibi, ex-mayor of Jerusalem and arch-rival of the Mufti, pressed for continuation of the strike.

An unascertained number of Arabs were wounded tonight in a two-hour clash between troops and a gang of mounted rebels near the Wadi Serar railway station. Reinforcements were called from Lydda after the gang had ambushed the patrol from two sides.
