Eliahu David, 30, who was wounded Friday during an attack on the Jewish colony of Gan Shmuel, died today at Beilinsohn Hospital in Petach Tikvah. His death brought to four the toll of Jewish dead over the weekend and to 82 the July-August toll.
Eight Arabs were killed, two Arabs and two Jews were wounded in further disorders today. Seven of the Arab dead were terrorists killed in an engagement with British troops near Um-el-Fahm, during which the troops captured three Arabs and six rifles. An Arab policeman in Nablus was shot and killed in a cafe. The cafe owner was arrested.
Two Jewish quarry workers, Joshua Friedman, 21, and Meir Mizrachi, 21, were shot and wounded near Mt. Kastel. They accused an Arab special policeman of the shooting. The policeman, who was arrested, said his gun had been discharged accidentally.
A freight train was derailed when it struck a land mine between kakun and Tulkarem. A military and police patrol captured a taxi containing 16 long-range Mausers and considerable ammunition. Two Arabs were arrested after a chase.
