The sixty-sixth case of cemetery desecration in Germany has aroused wide-spread indignation, as the metropolitan press published details of the vandalism wrought in the Jewish cemetery near Koepenick, near Berlin.
Awards totalling 1,220 Marks for the apprehension of the culprits were announced by the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, the Association of Jewish War Veterans and by the Berlin police praesidium.
Vice-president of the Berlin police, Dr. Weiss, accompanied by several high officials in the department of justice, visited the cemetery yesterday. Suspicion centers on a fifteen year old boy, a member of a nationalistic youth organization.
