The American Jewish World of Minneapolis comments as follows on Senator Barbour’s bill:

The bill introduced by Senator Warren K. Barbour of New Jersey, directing the Secretary of State not to enter into any reciprocal trade agreement with any nation engaged in racial or religious discrimination, is a ray of hope in a world sunk in an abyss of materialism and bigotry. This bill challenges the theory that nothing but profits ought to be considered in trade especially national trade. Many an ideal has been forgotten in the intensive economic and chauvinistic struggles of the last few years. The act proposed by the Senator from New Jersey is a call to the American people and a warning to the world that some things cannot be overlooked even for the sake of business.
