Dewey D. Stone, board chairman, and Harry Levine, treasurer of the American Committee for the Hebrew University, Weizmann Institute of Science, and technion, sailed for Israel today for a series of conferences with University, Institute and Technion leaders on needs of the institutions and plans for arounding strong support on their behalf in the United States and Canada.
“It is our intention,” Mr. Stone said, “to formulate definite plans to bring home to American Jewry the vital importance of our institutions of science and learning to the building of Israel.” The American Committee for U.I.T., which is currently seeking $5,500,000 in the United States and Canada, is the agency through which American support is enrolled for the three institutions.
