The League of Nations intervened in behalf of the Jewish refugees who were expelled from Bessarabia, according to advices received by the Jewish World Relief Conference here.
The Roumanian government in reply to the League’s protest declared that the expulsions were unauthorized and that instructions had been issued by the government as soon as it learned of them directing that no further expulsions take place in the future without the government’s knowledge and consent.
