The Israel sailing vessel “Nirit” and her crew of eight who were seized by the Lebanese this week-end when the vessel was driven inside Lebanese territorial waters by storms, were expected here late today. The vessel and crew were released by Lebanon yesterday.
The Lebanese informed the Israel-Lebanon Mixed Armistice Commission of the seizure of the 400-ton ship and of its release. Israel and Lebanon have an agreement under which each must release the vessels and crews of the other forced into territorial waters by storms, engine trouble or similar accidents.
