Three of four editors of a left-wing paper facing charges of terrorist connections have been released from prison on bail, following a Jerusalem district court ruling Sunday that said they do not pose a threat to the public.

Deputy State Attorney Dorit Benish promptly filed an appeal with the Supreme Court to reverse the district court order. The appeal, to be heard by Justice Aharon Barak, argues that the Jerusalem court ignored the gravity of the charges facing the editors of the paper, Derekh Hanitzotz.

No date was set to hear the appeal. Meanwhile, Michal Schwartz, Roni Ben-Efrat and Assaf Adiv are out of jail. A fourth co-defendant, Yaacov Ben-Efrat, was ordered to remain in custody.
