Sen. Herbert H. Lehman today called the attention of the Senate to the view taken by major Jewish organizations of the tactics of Congressional investigating committees.

A statement, issued by the National Community Relations Advisory Council, was entered in the Congressional Record by Sen. Lehman to inform Senators of the guiding principles sought by members of the Jewish faith. The NCRAC statement urged Congressional investigatory procedures which would safeguard individual liberties and made specific recommendations.

The statement said that “neither the Jewish community nor any other segment of our population can afford to be complacent or aloof when confronted with consistent assaults upon individual freedoms.”
