Observance of Palestine Day in New York State by all citizens, Christians as well as Jews, was asked by Governor Lehman in a Palestine Day statement made public yesterday by the Zionist Organization of America.

Palestine Day will be celebrated January 20 in an effort to focus attention on the upbuilding of the Jewish homeland. A national conference will be held in Washington on that day which will be attended by delegates of Jewish organizations from all over the country.

Addressing his message to “all men of good will,” Governor Lehman said:

“It is my hope that Palestine Day will serve to center the thoughts of all Americans on the spiritual and physical possibilities in Palestine.” He added that it is particularly gratifying “at a time of widespread social unrest and economic instability” to observe the “steady” growth of Palestine.
