Governor Herbert H. Lehman of New York will speak on “The American Tradition of Civil and Religious Liberty” at the Williamstown Institute of Human Relations to be held August 25 to 30, it was announced today.
Several hundred lay and clerical leaders of the Jewish, Protestant and Catholic faiths will attend the meetings, which will be held at Williams College.
The institute is being held on the three hundredth anniversary of the founding of Rhode Island by Roger Williams, pioneer of religious liberty in America.
