Lieutenant-Governor Herbert H. Lehman became Acting Governnor today, to head the State during Governor Roosevelt’s absence for a five or six weeks rest at Warm Springs, Georgia.
Lieut-Gov. Lehman will have the supervision of two important matters, the situation created in the State Banking Department by the recent collapse of the City Trust Company and the continuation in the courts of the controversy over the Executive budget. On both subjects the Acting Governor has a full understanding of Governor Roosevelt’s views and has been given a free hand to act.
