The first anniversary of the start of the first Leningrad trial was marked yesterday in Riga, Soviet Latvia, by 120 relatives and friends of the defendants who held a special morning prayer service for them in the city’s synagogue. The congregants came from Riga, Moscow, Kishinev, Wilna, Kiev, Leningrad and other Soviet cities. They asked the world to join in prayer with them as a “symbol of solidarity” with those sentenced a year ago, the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry reported.
