Leo W. Schwarz, writer, editor, teacher and lecturer, was presented this weekend with the Myrtle Wreath Achievement Award of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America. The presentation was made by Mrs. Mortimer Jacobson, national president of Hadassah, at a brief ceremony at Veterans Hospital, where Mr. Schwarz is a patient. The citation hailed Mr. Schwarz as a “devoted friend of Hadassah, whose great literary talent, sensitive understanding and creative imagination have made him an outstanding interpreter of Jewish life.” It was signed by the president of Hadassah and by Mrs. High Salpter, Hadassah’s national membership chairman.
