Leonard Bernstein, conductor-composer, now Laureate Conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, was invested tonight as an Honorary Fellow of the Weizmann Institute Of Science, at a concert of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra marking the 25th Anniversary of the Weizmann Institute of Science. Responding to the honor bestowed on him, Mr. Bernstein stated: “The Weizmann Institute stands as one of the greatest symbols of Israel’s sense of the future–a sense which is perhaps stronger in this country than in any other in the world, in spite of constant threats that surround it. I am deeply honored to be considered a part of that future.”
