Editor, Jewish Daily Bulletin:

In commenting on the fact that the body of Professor Boris Schatz still remains in the United States, the press has mentioned Bezalel Schatz, the son. I would like to correct the impression made that the son has not been heard from since June 8th.

Bezalel Schatz has traveled from coast to coast, holding exhibits and endeavoring to raise funds for the proper burial of his father. The American Jewish public is neither in a financial condition nor in the mood to buy art. Bezalel Schatz has shouldered the burden of his mother’s and sister’s support and has made payments to the undertaker to apply on the transportation of his father’s remains to Palestine. He is devoting every effort to the reopening of Bezalel in Jerusalem so that it may carry on.

That he has not secured the necessary funds for these needs is not his fault. Though young in years, he is mature in mind and definite of purpose. He is in no way neglectful of his responsibilities as those who know him, know of the tremendous burdens he has assumed. He held great love and admiration for his father and the land where he was born.

He is at present on the west coast organizing Friends of Bezalel units.

Director, Friends of Bezalel.
