Letters mailed from here during the first seven days of December were posted with a stamp honoring the 100th anniversary of the birth of David Ben Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel. According to instructions issued by the Postmaster General, the Ben Gurion stamp was also used on mail from Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Recife and the capitals of all of Brazil’s 23 provinces between December 1-7. In Brasilia, the national capital, the Ben Gurion stamp will be carried on mail posted for the next 120 days.
