The Liberal Party, at its New York State convention this week-end, made clear its stand on the Arab-Israel issue by including in its platform views similar to those adopted last week by the state convention of the Democratic Party, but which were not expressed in the platform adopted by Republican Party State convention. The excerpt on this issue from the platform adopted by the Liberal Party parley reads:
“Until a stable and permanent peace has been established between Israel and her Arab neighbors, no military aid should be given to any of the countries in that area without substantial guarantees that it will not be used for aggressive purposes, In the meantime, we favor the expansion of economic and technical aid to the entire Middle East as the best means of achieving tranquility and progress in that area.”
