The American Liberty League today challenged James A. Farley, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, to produce concrete evidence in support of his statement to the Democratic convention at Philadelphia that the league financed “undercover agency that has disgraced American politics with their appeals to race prejudice, religious intolerance…”
In a statement issued following a meeting of its executive committee yesterday, the league characterized the statement as “a false accusation” and said “such false and defamatory language rose beyond the limit of self-respect and cannot remain unnoticed.”
