A Libyan newspaper has bitterly attacked the Soviet Union as an “Imperialist State.” The paper, Ath-Thawrah, published in Tripoli, condemns Moscow for its support of India against Pakistan. “How can we believe the Soviet Union when it is killing hundreds of people daily on one hand and calling for disarmament, condemning Zionist aggression against the Arabs and US aggression in Southeast Asia on the other?” Ath-Thawrah asked in an editorial today. Some observers here saw significance in the attack inasmuch as the Libyan press conforms to government policies. Libya, Egypt and Syria were united in a federation last Sept.
