Acting under pressure from the Arab countries, the Libyan Government proclaimed a ban on ships flying the Israel colors, it was reported here today. Such ships will no longer be permitted to enter Tripoli harbor, and Libyan Jews wishing to immigrate to Israel must now go via Naples or Marseilles, the report said.
The report also disclosed that Jewish protests against the Libyan weekly Al Libi, which is conducting an anti-Jewish propaganda campaign, have been ignored. The paper’s current issue attacks Libyan Jews and charges that they are endangering the country’s political and economic life by exploiting Libyan resources to aid Israel.
