The International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICA) announced that it will open court action against the Soviet Information Service here next Jan. 22. LICA accused the service of “abetting racial hatred” in an article entitled “The School of Unenlightenment” published last Sept. in the bulletin “USSR.” LICA President Jean Pierre-Bloch said the article “encourages racial discrimination and violence. Such Incitement is forbidden by the French law of July 1, 1972.”
The article had attacked the Talmud and the Torah, saying that “because of these repugnant rules, entire generations of Israelis have been inculcated from the cradle with a hatred of other peoples.” Bloch said the Soviet bulletin could not claim diplomatic Immunity and was subject to French law.
