Several hundred delegates, representing Jewish reform congregations, sisterhoods and brotherhoods of Massachusetts and Rhode Island will convene in Temple Beth-El here Sunday, April 15, for a conference on religious problems generally, but with special emphasis on the question of Jewish education for both the adult and the younger generations.
The convention will be held in Providence for the first time in the history of the reform movement. It is sponsored by the North East Religious Union of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, parent body of all reform Jewish congregations in the United States.
Principal speakers will include Samuel B. Finkel of Boston, president of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods; Charles Brown, president, and Rabbi William G. Braude, spiritual leader of Temple Beth-El, who will welcome the delegates: Mrs. J. G. Nathan son of Providence, Louis H. Epstein of Brookline, Mass.; Archibald A. Hillman of Worcester, Mass.; Samuel M. Klivansky of Lynn, Mass.; Rabbi Harry Levi of Temple Israel of Boston, and Rabbi Jacob B. Pollak of New York, who is executive secretary of the North East Religious Union.
