The Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, which opens its session here tomorrow, is asked by the Jewish Agency to provide for a larger immigration of Jews into Palestine, in a memorandum made public here today.
The memorandum, accompanied by a covering letter from Nahum Sokolow, president of the Jewish Agency, cites the following facts in support of its request:
1. The Jewish population in Palestine at the end of 1934 was about 300,000 souls, as compared with the 245,000 at the end of 1923.
2. A total of 42,359 Jewish immigrants entered Palestine during 1934, including 9,429 from Germany. The immigrants came from nearly fifty different countries.

3. The Jews spent in Palestine in 1934 the sum of $35,000,000 to acquire 110,970 metric runams of land. Of this area 48,856 dunams were purchased from Jews and 62,114 dunams from Arabs. The Arabs received $8,240,000 for their land.
4. There are today 160 Jewish settlements in Palestine, occupying an area of 1,300,000 dunams of land. Their population is 70,000.
