Benjamin F. Lindheimer of Chicago and one of Governor Henry Horner’s most trusted advisers, has agreed to accept the chairmanship of the Illinois Commerce Commission, it was announced by the governor in Springfield, Ill.
The acceptance means that as soon as his appointment is confirmed Lindheimer will resign from the presidency of the Chicago Board of Local Improvements and also possibly from membership on the South Park Board.
The chairmanship of the utilities commission has been urged upon Lindheimer for several weeks, but until today he steadfastly refused to take it.
In telling Gov. Horner that he would accede to the executive wish, Lindheimer, it is said, stated that he does not see his way clear to serve more than six months in the state office.
