Dr. Sol J. Applebaum of Rochester, N. Y., was elected Vice-President of the Medical Society of the County of Monroe at the annual meeting of that body here. This Society includes in its membership all members of the medical profession in the City of Rochester the third largest city in New York State, and a number of towns located in Monroe County. Dr. Applebaum has been active in the Society’s work for years and is now chairman of the Periodic Health Examination Committee of that organization.
George M. Lipshultz, violinist, conductor and composer succumbed here at the age of thirty-nine, following a brief illness.
A native of Chicago, Mr. Lipshultz became a violin prodigy at an early age. He is survived by his widow, his mother, three sisters and two brothers.
