The Ministry of Interior’s veterinary department has annulled, as contrary to the constitutional guarantee of religious liberty, the action of the Municipal Council of Polangen in prohibiting kosher slaughter.
Meanwhile, Government officials promised to amend a bill governing the flax trade which Jews had protested as threatening the position of the 2,000 Jewish families engaged in the trade. The bill envisages a Government monopoly in the industry.
